Blackwell Creek Forestry was founded to match our knowledge, experience, and love of the woods and good wildlife habitat with clients who want to improve their property and natural resources. Good forestry and habitat management is based in sound science and guided by the landowner’s objectives. We have the expertise you seek. We offer services in Missouri, Kansas, southwest Iowa, and southeast Nebraska.
Philip Sneed, B.S. – Phil is the Senior Forester and President of the company. Phil obtained his B.S. in Forestry, with an emphasis in Wildlife Management, from Purdue University in 1995. He has over 25 years of experience in managing forests and wildlife habitat. Phil is also a veteran. He served 6 years in the Marine Corps Reserve including a deployment to Saudi Arabia/Kuwait during Operations Desert Shield & Storm. Prior to starting Blackwell Creek Forestry, Phil worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Research Assistant and Resource Forester, spending time in both north and south Missouri. Phil spent 8 years managing a 6,000 acre conservation area that served as one of MDC’s premier Quail Emphasis Areas. He has marked and sold several million board feet of timber and conducted thousands of acres of prescribed burning and forest inventory. He’s worked with hundreds of landowners and organizations over the years and given presentations on forestry, wildlife habitat improvement, and fire management at conferences and workshops. In addition, he has spent 22 years deploying to wildland firefighting assignments in the western US, serving as a Crew Boss and Public Information Officer.

Carsen Goodman, M.S. Carsen is the Staff Forester and newest addition to Blackwell Creek Forestry. He obtained a B.S in Natural Resources, minoring in forestry and agronomy, from Missouri State University, in 2020. Carsen obtained a M.S. in Plant Science, with a forestry focus, from MSU in 2022. He also holds a Geospatial Information Science Graduate Certificate. Carsen was born and raised in the Ozarks, in Ellington, Missouri. His hobbies include canoeing, hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
